Back On Earth focuses on creating an immersive experience with an imaginative world base on the return of the human race to Earth after the evacuation due to a meteor impact 79 years ago.

The project involves 3D modelling, digital painting, image composition, logo design and animation.

I am at an early stage now but there will be more to come.

The earth after the meteor impact.

  • the Earth now has an asteroid belt due to the fragments of the meteor impact. Smaller pieces have surrounded the Earth. To avoid unnecessary risk, much smaller spaceships are required for the returning mission.

  • Parts of the oceans had evaporated, and more land is exposed.

  • Parts of the earth are less damaged, as a result, plants, animals and cities survived and after a hundred years, things are getting back to life.

Timeline in S.E. (Space Era)

  • 0000 S.E. - Humankind starts their first space travel, searching for a shelter, another home for the whole race.

  • 0018 S.E. - A planet is marked as a possible alternative in Centaurus, 4.367 light years from Earth, and 5.742 light years from our ship.

  • 0025 S.E. - Humankind sets its first step on the soil of an exotic star.

  • 0053 S.E. - The department of Space Agency is established.

  • 0063 S.E. - Mission Back On Earth was announced.

  • 0070 S.E. - Space HQ “Gnosis” launches, and starts its trip through space.

  • 0079 S.E. - Humankind returns to Earth.

I decided to include an art book for the project. Not only to tell the story with another medium but also to add another layer to the immersive experience. While I think of this fictional world, I tend to imagine a happening event and what the things required to make It happen. It is a way for me to make the world more authentic and make sense.
